Teeth and pants

So last night I had this super vivid dream about my teeth falling out because I used too much whitening gel. Somewhat random? Yes. It was one of those incredible dreams where I remember with such intensity exactly how it felt. First one tooth broke and then fell out completely. Then another and another. At first I was trying to save them all to get to the dentist to have them put back in but eventually I stopped trying, resigning myself to having dentures for the rest of my life. Let's just say I was sure to run my tongue over my front teeth when I woke up to make sure they were still there.

I am not someone who generally remembers my dreams, especially as I've gotten older. It's always interesting though when you have a really unusual dream to try to analyze what it could mean. Well let's face it - I analyze everything so I guess why would dreams be any different?

Apparently dreams about teeth falling out or crumbling are rather common. The meanings, however, are pretty varied:
  • Teeth are a representation of your appearance. So these dreams reflect anxiety about your appearance or how others perceive you.
  • Teeth are used to bite and chew, which somehow can be interpreted as power. Teeth dreams represent a fear of losing power or a feeling of powerlessness.
  • Bad or failing teeth dreams mean you are putting your faith in man rather than in God.
  • In Greek culture, rotting teeth dreams mean someone close to you will become sick or die.
  • According to the Chinese your teeth will fall out if you tell a lie.
Wow so pretty negative. I either have no faith, no self-esteem, bad morals, or just plain ol' bad luck. Of course thankfully I'm saved by the last bit of the article that says dreams about losing teeth symbolize money. Thanks tooth fairy. - you can come whenever you'd like.

Also, in case you missed this:

Pants on the ground. Pants on the ground. Looking like a fool with yo pants on the ground.
